Kindergarten

Davallia Primary School is fortunate to have a purpose built Early Learning Centre which caters for both Kindergarten and Pre-primary learning programs.  The Kindergarten program operates 15 hours per week and is delivered over five full days of learning per fortnight.

Although Kindergarten is non-compulsory, we are strong advocates of regular attendance and engagement with the program.  This provides students with the best foundation for development of readiness skills for full-time schooling.

The curriculum has a strong focus on pre-literacy and numeracy skills as well as health and wellbeing through physical and social experiences.   An Early Intervention team supports children and families to access additional resources to assist with learning challenges.

Kindergarten classes are instructed by qualified Early Childhood Teachers and supported by well experienced Education Assistants. We are committed to play-based intentional teaching practices that build confidence, resilience, independence and essential knowledge and skills in our youngest, yet most enthusiastic learners.
