One of the most important things your child can do to achieve academic success is also one of the most basic: going to school every day. As parents, by making your child’s school attendance a priority, you will be taking the most important step in supporting your child’s school success and developing positive attendance patterns for their entire schooling years.
School Times
8.40 – 8.55am Classroom doors open, students prepare for their day
8.55 – 11.10am Instructional time
11.10 – 11.30am Recess
11.30 – 1.00pm Instructional time
1.00 – 1.40pm Lunch
1.40 – 3.10pm (Wednesday 1.40 – 2.45pm) Instructional time
Early Close – Every Wednesday
Each Wednesday, the school day concludes at 2.45pm. This early close provides opportunity for staff to undertake administrative duties, collaboratively plan learning programs, assess and moderate student performance, attend professional learning opportunities and participate in curriculum and staff meetings.
Should parents be unable to collect students at 2.45pm, supervision is provided in the school Library until 3.10pm. Should you wish your child to attend the Library during early close, please register their attendance through the office.
Notifying A Student Absence
We have moved over to the Departments new platform called compass. Should your child be absent you may telephone the office of 9246 8750 or send us an email davallia.ps@education.wa.edu.au
A text message will be sent to parents for any unexplained absences and will appear as being sent from Davallia PS. Please click on the link to advise of your child’s absence.
